The solar eclipse of August 21, 2017, dubbed the "Great American Eclipse" by the media, was a total solar eclipse visible within a band that spanned the contiguous United States from the Pacific to the Atlantic coasts. In the span of two weeks leading up to the eclipse, we planned a road trip from Salt Lake City, UT to one of the highest roads in the US - Rail Road Ridge - to capture an almost impossible photo. It was one of hell of a journey, both figuratively and literally.
